7th China Medical Women's Congress Held in Beijing

The seventh China Medical Women's Congress (CMWC) and a commendation ceremony for the China Wuzhou Women Science & Technology Award was held in Beijing on September 11.
The congress reviewed the work of the China Medical Women's Association (CMWA) in all aspects in 2020, briefed attendees on cutting-edge medical information, and initiated a plan for women medical workers' action for scientific and technological innovation.
Shen Yueyue, Vice-Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and President of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), and Huang Xiaowei, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and Vice-President and First Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, attended the event. They presented awards to women medical workers who received the titles of the National March 8th Red-banner Collective, National Most Beautiful Family and the National "Five Virtues" Civilized Families and role models and groups who have made outstanding achievements at their posts.
Recipients of the Seventh China Wuzhou Women Science & Technology Award were also honored for their outstanding achievements in medical science and technology at the event.

During the congress, Qiao Jie, President of the CMWA, gave an introduction to the efforts made by women medical workers in epidemic prevention and control, flood control and disaster relief, and the resumption of work, production and classes. Qiao vowed to guide women medical workers to make more achievements in the application of clinical technology, the cultivation of medical talents and the research of medical science.

Representatives of women medical workers from Beijing, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Hubei Province and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region gave speeches both online and offline at the event. They shared their experiences in medical science, and they determined to respond to the call of the Women's Action for Scientific and Technological Innovation, achieve innovative development in the field of medical science and technology, meet people's demands for health services and strive to take the lead in the international medical field.
A plan for women medical workers' action for scientific and technological innovation was initiated during the congress. Sponsored by the CMWA, the action aims to promote the implementation of the Women's Action for Scientific and Technological Innovation, guide women medical workers to participate in scientific and technological innovation and make contributions in building China into a world leader in science and technology.

Shen fully affirmed the CMWA's efforts to unite and guide women medical workers to take part in the Women's Action for Scientific and Technological Innovation, and encouraged women medical workers to better safeguard public health and serve the country. She also stressed focusing on problems in core technological research, and motivating more women scientific and technological workers to contribute to the promotion of sci-tech self-reliance and self-strengthening at higher levels.
